Description: Multiphor II System

The modular design of the Multiphor II system gives it the flexibility to handle virtually any flatbed electrophoretic technique. It is ideal for ultrathin gels (0.1–0.5mm) on glass or plastic supports up to 20–26cm (7⁷/₈–10¹/₄"). In addition to accommodating gels of different sizes, the electrodes make secure, uniform contact with various types of buffer strips, eliminating the need for large volumes of liquid buffers. The system can be configured for 1-D or 2-D protein electrophoresis, or DNA fragment analysis. It runs up to 12 IPG strips, 7–24cm (2³/₄–9⁷/₁₆"), simultaneously. System allows cooling of ultrathin gels efficiently and uniformly, through the ceramic cooling plate, for improved resolution and speed at high voltages. User can select from a wide range of precast gels, or cast specialized gels for unique applications. Adjustable electrodes allow use of different sized gels.
